 For 26 years, the Upton home was where Australian Shepherd rescues called home. With our boys, we raised aussies and cattle dogs. My passion is this breed; the smartest, family-friendly, beautiful, herding dog.  Our dogs compete, work and earn titles in performance, agility and conformation. Their puppies will be the same. 

Australian Shepherds are a smart, high energy breed that want to please. Our lines represent 5 generations of champions and grand champions (AKC & ASCA) from responsible and serious HOF breeders. Our prodigy are companions, show, performance and/or stock dogs. 

Australian Shepherds are energetic companions that sleep at your feet, herd the kids and protect the property line. They are not lap dogs. To love an Aussie is to keep them active, engaged and part of the pack. In return, you will not find a more loyal, beautiful and loving companion. Some puppies will be best suited for show and performance homes. Please declare your true intentions to receive the best match for your home and lifestyle. 

Who we are:

We are Jim and Catherine Upton, a passionate family who love our dogs like our family. Planning to retire, I wanted to take my passion to the next level. I was lucky enough to meet the perfect breeders who trusted me with their prodigy, a job I take seriously.  My pack are engaged in show, performance and herding. Activities they choose not me! I have never enjoyed myself more.  We hope to extend this passion to  others who love the breed like we do and want to make an Awesome Aussie part of their pack.

How to Adopt an Aussie?

Know the breed. Aussies are energetic and need engagement. If you are up for the task, seek a companion to love and work, this is your breed.  To  reserve a pup, we ask you to complete an the Puppy Questionaire on the Resources page. When I receive it, I will call and/or email you to answer any questions.

Why CU2 Aussies? 

All our Australian Shepherds are genetically tested for various genetic diseases common to the breed. We breed carefully to create a prodigy that will improve the lines. As you can see by the registrations, titles and pedigrees, the sires and dams are exceptional working, performance, show and companion dogs. Our Aussies also have full OFA tests and certifications for healthy hips, elbows, and  can endure the rigors of a working breed. Last, our Aussies herald from Hall of Fame Breeders with 5 generations of award-winning dogs.  The best predictor of a healthy dog is its pedigree.

How much are the Aussies?

Pricing is based upon the plans for the puppy. If you seek a pup with full rights and show quality, the cost will be higher than a companion dog without breeding rights. Our pups are available at competitive market rate.

Puppy Selection

After birth, the puppies will be photographed and shared with reserved families.  After 4 weeks of age, companion homes will be determined and contacted. Show and performance homes may take until 10 weeks. There is no guarantee of success in the show ring, only the indicators are present.

Health Factors

All of the sires and dams are health tested, Paw Prints genetically screened and OFA for hips and elbow health. Offspring are clear by parentage. All pups will be dewormed, vaccinated and have Vet health clearance before arriving to their new home. We recommend  you have the new addition Vet  examined within 48 hours of arriving home. At that time, if the Vet exam reveals any significant health issues, the pup can be returned for a future pup.
